Element property definition

Both available fluid pipe elements (FP2D2 and FP3D2) are defined by two nodes, which cannot be coincident (a zero length pipe is not allowed). You must associate a fluid pipe section with a set of pipe elements.

*FLUID PIPE SECTION, ELSET=name

Element-based loading

Distributed loads

Distributed loads are specified as described in Distributed loads, Section 34.4.3.


Load ID (*DLOAD):  GRAV

Units:  LT–2

Description:  Gravity loading in specified direction (magnitude is input as acceleration).

Element output

FPDPRESS

Pressure drop across the element.

FPMFL

Mass flow rate through the element.

FPFLVEL

Velocity of the fluid flowing through the element.
