Advanced HTML Search Tips
Use Advanced Search to vary the default search behavior.
Exclude unwanted terms
Use the Search term(s) and Without the text fields in conjunction. For example, enter continuum in the Search term(s) field and shell in the Without the text field to find occurrences of continuum without any nearby occurrences of shell.
Restrict search to Abaqus context
Use the Limit search to field to find terms within either all searchable text (the default) or within defined Abaqus terminology, as shown in the following examples:

Abaqus keywords

beam only within an Abaqus keyword option, such as *BEAM ADDED INERTIA, *BEAM FLUID INERTIA, etc.
Abaqus parameters hourglass only where it refers to a keyword parameter name, such as *SECTION CONTROLS, HOURGLASS. This option also highlights execution command line parameters.
Parameter values new only where it refers to a keyword parameter value, such as OP=NEW.
User subroutine names creep only where it refers to the user subroutine CREEP.
MPC names beam only where it refers to the BEAM multi-point constraint or BEAM-type MPCs.
Connector names revolute only where it refers to the connector element name REVOLUTE.
GUI text interference only where it refers to a button or label in the user interface, such as Interference Fit.
Abaqus Scripting Interface object edge only where it refers to the Edge object in the ASI Python commands.
Select word form or derivative words
Use Match to determine the word forms or derivative words that the search function will match.
Exact spelling Finds only exact spelling matches (default).
Plural/Possessive Finds variations of the search term containing s, es, 's, and s'.
Derived form Finds simple derivations of the search term; for example, by using word stemming to obtain different verb tenses (-ed, -ing).
Limit search results by proximity or context
Use the Display occurrences within field to control the area used for searching.
Display occurrences
  • The same section (default). Applicable for multiword searches and for searches of one term without another.
  • The same paragraph. Applicable for multiword searches and for searches of one term without another.
  • The same sentence. Applicable for multiword searches and for searches of one term without another.
